Sarah Senteza

Even as a child, Ugandan-born artist Sarah Senteza loved art and found that it came easy to her. When she finished her senior year of high school, she married. Her husband encouraged her to create, paying for her school fees until she finished a course in Fine Art at Nkumba University in Uganda. As a professional artist, Sarah specializes in painting and graphic design. As Sarah says, “I enjoy painting very much. When I lie on my bed I start thinking of what to draw. Mostly I do African art, the activities in the communities. I know what they do in the villages—what the women do, and what the men do." She uses oil paint and acrylic, batiks and banana fibers.
